Creative Ways to Keep Your Children Busy While You Do the Chores
Friday, November 11th, 2011
If you have children in your a busy mom, you will have to find ways to keep them busy while you do your chores. We don’t want children to watch too much TV. Fortunately there are ways to keep them productively occupied while we work in the house. Here are some fun the activities that your children can do while you are busy.
Print coloring pages and give them crayons and let them scribble on the coloring pages. This will help them become more familiar with lines and how lines form shapes and how shapes in turn become pictures. It will also help them become familiar with colors. Working on coloring pages can also help your children develop their finer motor skills and eye and hand coordination.
You can also give them used sheets of paper and teach them how to make paper airplanes. There are websites that teaches how to make different types of paper airplanes. One website even teaches how to make 50 different paper airplanes. Folding all those paper airplanes should keep them busy for a while.

Get a Sewing Machine and Knock Your Friends Socks Off!
Friday, October 7th, 2011
My sister got into sewing about four years ago and had no one to teach her she just looked up some sewing machine reviews read up on some blog posts on which was the best sewing machine for beginners and got her first machine.
The following week she practically had to drag me to the linen store to pick out a few of my favorite patterns because she intended not to buy me what I wanted but instead to make it for me. I thought this was ridiculous and that it was just some sort of phase she was going through but low and behold when she got done with that project I was amazed.
She had some real talent and knew what she was doing already when it came to seeing something in a store and being able to recreate it and usually even better than what you could get in the store.

The Craft of Sewing
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011
If you are at all serious about your sewing craft then you probably have some tools that you can use to help you with your projects. I am not talking about needles, pins and other basics, I am referring to a dressmakers dummy. Of all the tools I own this is probably one of my very favorites. I can use it to make clothes for other people and myself. I also like to take large pieces of fabric and just drape it over the dummy to see the different kinds of ideas I get. I may then design something unusual or something tried and true but you can bet my inspiration came from the model form – my dressmakers dummy. I also like to have it just to remind me to get sewing. Sometimes life gets in the way and I get so busy I don’t do the sewing that I should so it is a great visual to keep me on task.

Hookah: a Form of Smoking
Thursday, April 21st, 2011
The forms of smoking pipe range enormously: some are easy and a few are beautiful, purchased extra as a collector’s item than a tobacco tool. The most typical varieties include the following.
Hookah, as Alice in Wonderland will attest, these kind of pipes are a favorite amongst caterpillars. Hookahs are water pipes of Middle Eastern origin. They are often used to smoke cannabis (naughty, naughty) and shisha tobacco. With Hookah’s, the water filters the smoke and cools it within the process. Lemon juice, milk, and ice are typically added to the water whereas honey, and fruit flavors are sometimes added to the tobacco. This makes for a flavorful smoke.
Briar Pipe, a lot of the pipes in the present day’s market are created from briar wood. A multitalented wood, briar has a pure resistance to fire and a eager potential to soak up moisture. Reigning from the Mediterranean area, briar is often reduced into two completely different blocks: ebauchon and plateaux.
