What is the Difference Between a 4 Star Resort and a 5 Star Resort?
Saturday, December 3rd, 2011
Resorts and hotels are rated according to periodic inspections conducted by industry-based organizations that vary from country to country. Stars are typically used as classification symbols. Most rating systems have been established by tourist organizations and travel guide publications. Rating systems vary from country to country. Attempts at establishing an international classification system have been unsuccessful. The United States and Canada classifies resorts and hotels on a five-star system, whereas many resorts in Western Europe are classified on a four-star system. Resort ratings vary according to factors such as facility location and size, as well as the types of services and amenities provided to guests. Each rated property must meet stringent maintenance, cleanliness and safety standards.
A four star rating indicates exceptional quality in all aspects of the property, including unique architecture, magnificent views and interior design features. Four star resorts, referred to as deluxe, offer comfort, class and quality. Resorts are typically located within close proximity to popular vacation activities and tourist destinations. Most resorts include valet parking, concierge services, laundry service and travel planning assistance. Guest accommodations include a master bedroom and guest rooms, a large common area, a well-equipped kitchen and lavish bath suites. Depending on location, most four star resorts include an outdoor deck or balcony with astounding views of the surrounding region. Most four star resorts offer a fully equipped fitness center and spa facilities. Resort outdoor pools are expansive with areas designated for lap swimming or relaxing. A pool-side lounge may offer complimentary cocktails and light fares, or may be part of an all-inclusive package. Four star resorts include on-site restaurant and lounge facilities. Restaurants usually offer full breakfast and dinner service, with 24-hour room service available upon request.
Five star resorts, referred to as exceptional, are among the finest resorts in the world. Located in popular tourist destinations, five star resorts epitomize opulence, comfort and unrivaled service. Many five star resorts have maintained original architecture or historical significance. Interior designs are elegant and luxurious. Guest suites contain the finest dcor, including premium bedding and linens, fully equipped gourmet kitchens and lavish bath suites featuring open waterfall-type showers and whirlpool baths. Many suites contain an indoor hot tub or sauna. All units offer high-speed wireless internet service, cable television and advanced entertainment systems. Recreational facilities include one or more sensational swimming pools, as well as spa and fitness centers. Golf courses and tennis courts are often featured in the larger resorts.
Excellent service is provided to all guests including valet and concierge services. Some travelers require full time security services and private travel to and from the resort, both of which are available upon request. Most five star resorts offer conference centers with streamlined technology, including secretarial services and business assistance. Superb dining is available in several restaurants and lounges on the premises including breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Many five star resorts offer the services of private chefs to prepare guest meals. In-room massage, spa and facial treatments are available upon request. Child care services are also available upon request.
The major differences between four and five star resorts is service and facility size. Five star resorts boast a high staff to guest ratio, assuring that all guest needs are met immediately upon request. Comfort, convenience and luxury define both four and five star resorts. Five star resorts often tend to be larger, located in popular travel destinations such as beach resorts, mountain ski resorts and sporting destinations.
Due to the recent downfalls in the global travel economy, many four and five start resorts have been partially converted into private condominium and time share units. Resort prices can vary widely depending on percentage of private ownership units and time share units as opposed to available resort units. Seasonal rates can fluctuate, depending on resort location, time of travel and occupancy rates. A five star resort at Whistler, for example, can be extremely expensive during the winter ski season as many tourists flock to the region to take advantage of alpine and cross country skiing and winter sports activities. The summer months usually attract outdoor enthusiasts for hiking, cycling, water sports and fishing. Although seasonal prices may differ, services in four and five star resorts remain impeccable.
Four and five star resort hotels are located in metropolitan cities worldwide including Paris, Rome, Athens, Madrid, Vancouver, British Columbia, San Francisco and New York. Popular Canadian travel destinations, including Whistler, Lake Louise and Banff, are among the top rated winter sports destinations in Canada. Four and five star resorts are located throughout the Canadian mountain ranges, offering comfort, luxury and convenience for all guests.

How Much Does a Yacht Cost?
Sunday, November 27th, 2011
When one considers something like a yacht, one is going to find out that the price of yachts greatly differs. A 20 to 40 foot yacht, more universally known as a cabin cruiser is way lower than that of a 100 to 200 mega or super yacht. Cabin Cruisers’ cost can start as low as $15,000 when bought used. The price increases while the quality of the yacht levels up and dimension also increases. A 65′ luxury yacht is made known at a price of $2,199,000. Back in 2009, a new 20-foot cabin cruiser cost lower than $50,000, a 30-foot weekender yacht is price at roughly $200,000, 50-foot cruisers were quoted at $1,000,000, 100-foot plus yachts’ cost can extend from $8 to 10 million and160-footers run about $40 million. The classiest yachts way back in 2005 average at $64.37 million with the most expensive, a 280 foot mega yacht cost $103 million. Amid the cheapest was a 157 footer yacht at $24 million. Since those are 2005 figures, it is safe to presuppose that the prices would evidently and significantly be pricier now.
What you’re going to find out is that a yacht isn’t for everybody. While the price tag is rather high, it’s going to be for the 1% of the population out there. If you truly want to go on one, I would recommend that one either considers going in with some friends to purchase a used one from a few years ago, or if you really want to, many companies in your local area may also offer some sort of rental promotion where you can rent the yacht for the day, the week or even by the month.

Bringing Camping to Their Lives
Sunday, November 20th, 2011
I thought that I would like to introduce my entire family to the camping world this summer because I would always go when I was a college kid with all of my frat buddies, and we would have the best time. It’s a nice way to commune with nature and to really breathe, especially when you live in a big city for much of your life. That was my story, and I always had a soft spot in my heart for the great outdoors. Now that we’re living in an even bigger city, I fear that my kids won’t get this same type of experience if I don’t push the envelope, and I fear that my wife will be the same way. She went when she was a young girl, but really hasn’t much explored it since, and I know that she loves it, she just doesn’t feel like she has the time for it. It’s very important though to explore every aspect of your personality.

The Great Rift Valley – Kenya and Its Jewel Lakes
Tuesday, November 15th, 2011
The Great Rift Valley – Kenya is one of the astonishments of the world. While the view going to the rift is stunning, the sight down the massive trench is even more amazing.
One of the most imposing features of the Rift is its lake areas. Two of its famous lakes are Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. The former one is a brackish lake fringed with forested and shrub grasslands. This site is a world-renowned park, which aim to shelter a significant number of pink flamingoes that flocks the area. The sight of thousands of birds feeding along the lake-shore is really spectacular. Flamingos, buffalos, warthogs, rhinos, giraffe and monkeys are also in abundance.
Lake Naivasha is a total opposite of Nakuru. Unlike the latter, Naivasha is a freshwater lake and it is not a reserve or a national park. Despite of that, it is a popular bird watching destination. It also provides a great opportunity for fishing. Moreover, this place is often grazed by different types of animals such as kongoni. The area is also filled with superb tourist facilities, which make it a famous weekend getaway.

Post Offices Are Offering Passport Issuing Office’s Services
Monday, August 29th, 2011
Things have really changed in this country to the better. The days when I had to wake up early whenever I had an issue with my passport, maybe it is expired or it is lost or I wanted to make an application on behalf of my children are long gone. These days, I can walk to a passport issuing office and get served with all what I wanted in a very short time. In fact, I do not have to miss work today because there are not so many people to be served in a single passport issuing office, and therefore I an usually through in less than half an hour. This is all thanks to the government for making it possible for us to access the services of a passport issuing office in our post offices. The good thing about this is the post office location they are always strategically located in every town of this country. I do not have to go out of the town to access passport services, nor am I required to walk for a long distance for the same.

I Want to Keep Fit
Wednesday, August 10th, 2011
I’ve always been keen on sports because I love to keep fit. I’ve practice almost every sport you can think of but after a while I get bored and I have to find something new and a lot more exciting to do. However, that changed when I started cycling. Some of friends got together at weekends and they cycled for a couple of miles near the city. They invited me two or three times until I finally accepted. It’s been almost three years since then and I’m not planning to give up. I think the reason why I love cycling so much is that I can really feel my muscles are working, which gives me the idea that it must be a great way of keeping fit. Now that I know this is what I want to do I’m going to get a new bike because they one I have is certainly old and doesn’t really help me during my training sessions.

Saturday, April 30th, 2011
If you are planning on visiting the Asian continent; then it would be wiser to go with an independent travel Asia plan. This is because one would be able to enjoy more going there as an independent traveler rather than simply going with a packaged trip. There are lots of places and things to do in those Asian countries and it would be really be more worth it if someone would decide and go instead on an independent travel arrangement than with a packaged trip.
These countries have a lot to offer especially to those who are built and born for adventure. The things that people can do in their travels in these countries are limitless and in order for them to enjoy the whole trip; it is really a lot better to be making one’s one travel plans so they can really explore most of the things that they can.
If people are even not that demanding; they can even save a lot of money during their trips here because the prices of things normally in those countries are not that high. People can find good places to stay at without the need to stay in an expensive hotel and can enjoy dining at good restaurants that offer good quality food without the high fees of expensive restaurants.

A Country of Leader, Yet Corruption Thrives
Friday, April 8th, 2011
I used to think getting a passport in your own country shouldn't be that hard but then if you come from where I come from then I advice that you get your passport one prior to when you want to use it because you might just be disappointed. Everything is based on corruption and bribery and if you don't do that you are just like a third class citizen to them, which means anything can happen and by anything I mean you not getting your passports. I see them issue passport no birth certificate to people that bring money which simply means that you can actually not be a citizen and still get a passport. Sometimes I wonder why we have a government when all this rules are been broken. What do they do , just sit there and watch or be the mastermind behind it all. I think something really needs to be done to this people. I don't like politics and I never will because of things like this happening all around.

Neck Pain While Traveling?
Wednesday, February 9th, 2011
Do you love to travel but find that its especially hard to keep your neck healthy? Neck pain is one of the worst part of traveling, especially if you love traveling on a car. I know, traveling by air is faster and easier but I just love to pass through all the beautiful scenery in a car. Can’t help it.
Anyway, I have the solution for you no matter what type of transport you opt for. Just use an inflatable travel pillow and you’ll wake up refreshed when your plane lands. I choose an inflatable travel pillow because its easy to carry it around and stuff it in your bag when you don’t need it anymore. I love traveling light so this is pretty useful. And if you’re traveling by car, there’s just a huge variety of travel pillows that you can use. Some of it are really comfortable and you can sleep all the way throughout the journey without any neck strain at all.
